Privacy Policy

When accessing or using the UNNATI portal — the Unified New-Age National Training Initiative, operated by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) at unnati.cbc.gov.in (referred to as "UNNATI") — certain personal information is gathered from and about you. We are dedicated to safeguarding the security of this information and ensuring your privacy. This document ("Privacy Policy") sets out the specifics of the personal information collected, the methods of collection, the entities responsible for collection, and the purposes for which it is used.

To utilise UNNATI, you must provide your voluntary, specific, informed, unequivocal, and unambiguous consent to the processing of your personal data for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy. By registering your institute or creating an account on UNNATI, you indicate your agreement to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of UNNATI indicates your ongoing acceptance of the provisions of this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is subject to periodic revisions, and you will be informed of all such modifications. To continue utilising UNNATI, you must consent to the revised terms of the Privacy Policy through explicit affirmative action.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy governs the way the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of UNNATI. It applies to the UNNATI website and all products and services offered through it. The policy aims to maintain compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and adherence to the security guidelines of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.

2. Data Collection

We may collect personal identification information from users in various ways, including but not limited to when users register a Training Institution on UNNATI, create or update an institutional profile, list infrastructure, faculty, or courses in the marketplace, apply for accreditation, or otherwise interact with UNNATI's features.

UNNATI is meant for use by Training Institutions under the Government of India and State Governments — and by officials and personnel authorised to act on such an institution's behalf, including those working on contract for government. Users may be asked for, as appropriate: name, official email address, phone number, designation, and institutional affiliation of the person registering or administering the institute's account, along with institutional details such as institute name and category (Central Training Institute, Administrative Training Institute, Central or State Domain Training Institute, PSU Academy, or Other), address, infrastructure and faculty records, course content, and accreditation documentation.

The information collected shall be used only for the purpose of institute registration and verification, accreditation and benchmarking, enabling infrastructure, faculty, and course sharing across the network, and reporting on and monitoring institutional participation and performance to the respective Ministries, Departments, or State Governments.

3. Data Usage

We may collect and use users' personal information for the following purposes:

  • To personalise the institute experience: we may use information in the aggregate to understand how institutes, as a group, use the services and resources provided on UNNATI.
  • To improve UNNATI: we continually strive to improve UNNATI's offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from institutes and users.
  • To send periodic communications: we may use the email address on file to respond to inquiries, questions, and other requests, and to share accreditation, assessment, or benchmarking status updates.
  • Phone numbers may be used for sending communications such as SMS, WhatsApp messages, and mobile push notifications regarding registration, accreditation, or UNNATI Capability Index updates.

4. Data Protection

  • We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of users' personal information stored on UNNATI.
  • All information available with CBC is classified based on the existing classification of the Manual on Paper Records issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, 1994, and the National Information Security Policy and Guidelines, 2014, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, as updated from time to time.
  • The system does not share or disclose any information collected at the time of registration with any individual or organisation (public or private) unless required by law or authorised by the account holder with their consent.

5. Data Retention

  • All personal data collected from you under Clause 4 will be retained for as long as your institute's account remains in existence on UNNATI.

6. Third-Party Services

UNNATI may contain links to, or rely upon, third-party websites and service providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on UNNATI with a new "Last Updated" date.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

8. Your Acceptance of These Terms

By registering your institute or creating an account on UNNATI, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use UNNATI. Your continued use of UNNATI following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
